I know I let this blog lapse a long time ago. Nevertheless, due to the fantastical and fanatical nature of my Tar Heel brethren, I still get a steady flow of traffic here. As I result, I feel compelled to share some news.
I am running for City Council in Sanford, NC. Sanford is a great town of over 25,000 people in central North Carolina about 45 minutes south of Chapel Hill on 15-501. Sanford lies in Lee County at the intersection of US 1, Hwy 421, Hwy 87, and Hwy 15-501. Once known as the Brick Capital of the USA, Sanford is a wonderful town full of a wide mix of industry, professionals, shops, neighborhoods and has a ton to offer. Although we boast an extremely popular pottery festival every May, Sanford is not known as a tourist destination. You’ve heard the saying “Nice place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there”? Sanford is the opposite. You want to live here. You want to work here. And it’s close enough to everywhere else you might want to visit. I grew up in Raleigh, went to school in Chapel Hill, and lived in Durham, but I chose Sanford, and I love it. Check us out.
And if you know anyone in Sanford, I’d appreciate their vote. Ed Page for Sanford City Council
