Tar Heel Born and Tar Heel Bred, and when I die, I’ll be a Tar Heel dead.

At this stage of my life, I no longer “live and die” along with the athletic exploits of my alma mater, but it’s also fair to say that every one at home finds me a lot more pleasant to be around when we win.

After seven years in Chapel Hill in undergrad and law school, I began to realize the dirty little secret about that place: Jesse Helms may have been right. Put a fence around it (don’t forget Carrboro) and it has enough crazy animals to rival that other zoo over in Asheboro. So many people in that place are just loony! I suppose I’m the exceedingly rare red state guy who bleeds blue.

Anyway, this Blog will tend to focus on Tar Heel sports, with an occasional rant about politics, religion or daily life.
